2022 Girls Lacrosse Preview

Coach: Melissa Velez (12th year as head coach)

Last year’s record: 10-5

Key Returners: Abbi Uhl (Sr.), Mary Looes (Sr.), Sarah Urrea (Sr.), Morgan Jones (Jr.) and Giuliana Urban (Sr.)

Key Losses (specifically last year players who graduated): Ella Giambona and Jen Malocha

Strength of the Team: “We have a lot of girls with talent, and if [we are] consistent, we definitely have what we need to take our league,” Velez said.

Outlook on the Season: After a successful season last year, the girls’ lacrosse team looks to continue this success in 2022. The seniors that graduated last year were some of the only girls in the program that had gone through a “covidless” lacrosse season; the seniors right now only had their freshman year as a season without COVID-19. The team is returning most of its young core and did not lose too many key seniors, so the girls’ lacrosse team looks to have another promising season.
