Monday 4/25
Girls Lacrosse – Demarest 4 Pascack Valley 17
The girls improved their record to 7-4 in a blowout win against Demarest. Mary Looes led the team with 4 goals while Courtney Pellisson had two goals and three assists.
Golf – Demarest 197 Pascack Valley 201
Track and Field – Demarest 117 Pascack Valley 23
The team won both the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:46, and in the high jump, Nate Fischkelta leaped over 5’4.
Softball – Pascack Hills 0 Pascack Valley 8
Alexandra Spadafino had a great pitching performance as she got the shutout. Alexis Ban made several nice plays at first base, Madison Silcher had a couple of RBIs to go along with throwing a player out who attempted to steal, and Kiara Selby went 3-3 with 4 RBIs, an intentional walk, a single, a triple and a grand slam.
Boys Tennis – Paramus 1 Pascack Valley 4
The boys’ tennis team beat Paramus in their 10th match of the season improving their record to 5-5. Ethan Ganz won the second singles match in a nail-biter as he edged out his opponent in a second set tiebreaker and a third set tiebreaker by a score of 10-3. Conor Shirey also took the win in third singles while first singles player Alex Rothenberg was barely defeated by a score of 6-4 and 6-2. Lastly, Noah Silver and Mason Herzog, the first doubles team, won their match 6-2 and 6-0, and the second doubles team consisting of Jack Benson and Kamran Ghavami won their match 6-3 and 6-0.
Boys Lacrosse – Mahwah 11, Pascack Valley 3
The boys’ lacrosse team was defeated by Mahwah Monday afternoon as they fell to 5-5 on the season. Mahwah was led by brothers Steven and Richard Sciaino. Steven Sciaino finished the game with four goals and two assists while Richard Sciaino had four goals and one assist.
Tuesday 4/26
Baseball – Teaneck 2 Pascack Valley 5
The boys defeated Teaneck in a closely contested game as they improved their record to 7-5. They had nine hits in comparison to Teaneck’s five hits.
Boys Tennis – Tenafly 5 Pascack Valley 0
The boys’ tennis team was defeated by a very strong Tenafly team after a rough outing. Despite the tough loss, Valley managed to qualify for the County Tournament, and they were the last team to get in out of 16 teams.
Wednesday 4/27
Golf – Mahwah 164 Pascack Valley 196
Baseball – Teaneck 2 Pascack Valley 12
Brandon Flanagan had a great outing Wednesday evening as he pitched Valley into a win. The team had 15 hits in the game in comparison to Teaneck’s six hits. Valley improved their record to 8-5.
Girls Lacrosse – Old Tappan 2 Pascack Valley 16
Two senior stars put the games in their hands as Looes had five goals and two assists while Abbi Uhl had four goals. The girls improved their record to 8-4 on the season.
Softball – Dwight Morrow 0 Pascack Valley 10
The girls pulled out another win after a dominant performance from starting pitcher Spadafino and Selby who went 3/4 with two singles and a triple. Kara Moss also had a double to help Valley secure the win.
Boys Lacrosse – Glen Rock 10 Pascack Valley 8
A tough loss for the boys Wednesday evening as they were nearly solely defeated by Division I commit Will Consoli who scored all of Glen Rock’s seven goals and had three assists. The boys fall to 8-6 as Glen Rock improves to 8-2.
Golf – Paramus 191 Pascack Valley 196
Friday 4/29
Baseball – Paramus 7 Pascack Valley 6
The baseball team lost Friday afternoon despite having the lead through the first five innings. Nick Avagnano singled twice to go along with an RBI and a run allowing Paramus to improve to 9-5 and Valley fell to 8-6.
Boys Tennis – Ramsey 3 Pascack Valley 2
The boys had a tough loss against Ramsey Friday afternoon. Senior and third singles player Shirey, junior and first singles player Rothenberg, and second doubles partners Kim and Ghavami lost in hard-fought matches. Second singles player Ganz defeated his opponent in straight sets while first doubles players Silver and Herzog defeated their opponents in straight sets.
Boys Lacrosse – Old Tappan 2 Pascack Valley 8
Evan Leili had a great showing against the school’s rivals as he had three goals and three assists in the preliminary round of the Bergen County Tournament. The boys will face Glen Rock in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament.
Saturday 4/30
Girls Lacrosse – Mahwah 12, Pascack Valley 6
In the first round of the Bergen County Tournament, the girl’s lacrosse team was defeated by Mahwah with a score of 12-6. Mahwah’s leading scorer was Izzy Lotito who had five goals in comparison to Valley’s leading scorer Uhl who had three goals.
