Head Coach: Kaitlin Mac Iver (2nd year)
Last Year’s Record: 15-8 overall; 6-4 in Big North
Key Losses: Mia Hachadorian, Tegan Feeley, Eve Jarosz
Key Returners: Jillian Feeley (Sr.), Alexys Bland (Sr.), Shoshana Weiss (Sr.), Celia Torres (Jr.), Riley Hirsch (Jr.), Addison Demyen (Jr.), Maddy Romero (Jr.)
Key Newcomers: Gianna Siller (Fr.), Jacqueline Sohl (Jr.), Rylee Jurik (Jr.), Ella Gokhale (Jr.), Whitney Leake (Jr.), Leah Fox (Jr.), Johanna Chang (Jr.), and Camille Perrone (Jr.)
Strength of Team: “We have great depth with all the athletes on the varsity team,” Mac Iver said. “They have a competitive mentality of working together, they compete hard, and they push each other to be better overall. Jillian Feeley (Sr.), Alexys Bland (Sr.), and Shoshana Weiss (Sr.) have been doing a great job leading the underclassmen of what it takes to compete at the highest level.”
Weaknesses of Team: “I truly feel that we have no significant weakness, as they uplift each other and work hard every day to get better,” Mac Iver said. “There is a true love of the game with all 15 members [of the team].”
Outlook on Season: “We have 8 additions to the varsity team this year,” Mac Iver said. “We have 4 returning juniors (Celia Torres, Riley Hirsch, Addison Demyen, and Maddy Romero), and they were really emerging in their roles as sophomores last season and are continuing to make a strong impact this year. As a coach, I have the ‘best problem’ with so many talented athletes playing, as there are only 6 spots on the court at a time.”
Coach’s Comment: “Jillian Feeley was noted on the Northern NJ players to watch this year, finishing last season with 160 kills, 155 digs, and 22 aces,” Mac Iver said. “We look forward to another successful season with the ‘I am because we are’ mentality.”
