A Celebration of Music
Event to be held in celebration of music education and to honor Mrs. Argine Safari
Mrs. Argine Safari will be honored at Pascack Valley’s “Celebration of Music Education” event this Thursday at 7 p.m. The celebration will be held at PV and will be free and open to the public.
“It’s an event that will emphasize the importance of music education within our district,” said Mrs. Kaitlyn Mahaffey, a history teacher at Pascack Hills who is in charge of organizing the event. “The celebration will also serve as a platform to emphasize the importance of music education within our state, and maybe even on a larger scale, our country.”
The event will highlight the success of Safari, who won the New Jersey State Teacher of the Year and has recently been on sabbatical. She will return for this event to lead Bro Squad and the Chamber and Concert Choirs.
“I feel blessed to have this opportunity to have my students be showcased in a way that honors music education and the importance of what we do,” Safari said.
The Pascack Hills Chamber Choir will perform in addition to the PV music groups. All choirs will also perform a song together.
Before the event begins, solo acts performed by Ben Daniel, Aaron Correa, Carleigh Boyle, Mr. Matthew Morone, Nick DiBari, Kax Petkovich, and others will entertain guests during the cocktail hour and throughout the night.
