Shannon Donnelly

Knar Alashaian announced as April’s Valley IT Girl

Q: Have you taken Fashion Design at PV? If so, what did you like most about it?

A: I took it my freshman year. I liked sewing and seeing your sketches and then actually being able to sew it yourself and see it come to life and trying it on.

Q: What are your favorite stores/ where do you buy most of your clothes?

A: My go-to is definitely Urban. I also thrift shop and I’ll just pop into random stores when I’m in the city, like vintage stores and things like that and then a bunch of my stuff is also passed down. A lot of my belts are from my grandma. I very rarely wear stuff from my own closet.

Q: Celebrity inspiration–what celebrities style is your favorite?

A: Definitely Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Yara Shahidi

Q: If you could describe your style in one word/phrase what would it be?

A: Always changing

Q: What are some of your favorite activities/ what do you do for fun?

A: I play basketball and tennis at school. I hangout. I very rarely go shopping because I don’t really go to the mall that much, but I do go to the city all the time. I’m in the city at least 2 times a week. I go to Soho, the Flatiron District, downtown, and literally anywhere. Not even for anything specific, but just like to walk around.

Q: Do you have any ideas of what you want to do as a career? If so what?

A: I want to go into fashion journalism.

Q: What is your favorite magazine/do you visit any style websites regularly?

A: I don’t really read magazines, like I’ll flip through and look at pictures and whatever, but Vogue has a youtube and they do 73 questions with a famous person and I watch those regularly, whenever they’re posted.

Q: What is your favorite article of clothing? Why?

A: I like pants; there’s so many different options like jeans. You can have such a fun pant and such a basic top and it is still so cool and different.

Q: What is your favorite season to dress for?

A: Probably summer, not winter because it so boring like a sweater and jeans, but summer you can wear pants but then you can also wear shorts, or like pants and a tank top.

Q: What are some of the colors that you usually look for when purchasing your clothes? Do you wear more neutrals, colorful pieces, or a mix of both?

A: A mix of both; I don’t really go by color, just whatever catches my eye.

Q: Does anyone else in your life influence your style? Family members? Friends?

A: Definitely my mom because when I was little, she dressed me if we were going out and I had to be proper, but for school she would let me wear whatever I wanted, even if it was wacky sometimes. But then it kinda changed as I got older and I started finding my own style.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your blog? What are some of the things that you like to write about? What is it called?

A: My blog is called Miss K. It’s just stories that I find interesting and that I think other people would like to hear about. I also do trends that I like, like I did one story on socks and sandals and how they should come back. I have pictures of stuff that I like.

Q: When did you start the blog?

A: In my head, I started it last year, and it was just an idea, and then I motivated myself and actually pursued it a few months ago.

Q: Where are the items that you are currently wearing from?

A: My shoes are Adidas. My jeans are from Urban Outfitters. My shirt is from Urban. My flannel, I don’t know, just a random store. My great- grandma’s coin is on my necklace and my mom had it made into a necklace for me for my birthday.
