The lowdown: Eli has broken a school record in every meet this season. In the early meets this season, he rebroke his own school records in the 100 back, 100 free, 50 free. He also hopes to break the 100 breast record, and swim well at counties and states. He also would like to help the team qualify for state sectionals, as well as win the league title.

Coach’s comment: “Eli is a great not only as a leader, but also as a swimmer. He sets high goals and expectations for himself and always breaks them. We’re very lucky to have him as a captain,” said coach Courtney Farrell.

What he likes most about swimming: “The competitive aspect, it keeps me in shape, and I can eat whatever I want. And there are some pretty attractive mermaids out there.”

Favorite part of winter break: “I went to Key West with my family on my search for DJ Khaled. The ocean and scenery were very beautiful. I relaxed for the first time after a few months of rigorous training and slept on the beach from time to time.”

Favorite gift received this holiday season: Tommy Hilfiger watch

Favorite holiday song:Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande

Four people he’d like to invite to a dinner party: Allison Stokke (pole vaulter), Michael Phelps (swimmer), Bill Gates (co-founder of Microsoft), Evan Jones (Smoke Signal sports writer)

Future plans: “Hopefully, I would like to commit to a Division I school, possibly Loyola (Maryland) to swim. After college, I would like to start my own business and woo a beautiful woman with my fat stacks.”
