Athlete of the Week: Haleigh Marzano
Name: Haleigh Marzano
Sport: Swimming
Grade: Sophomore
The Lowdown: Haleigh played a major role for the PV girls swim team, that finished 9-3 in the regular season. Haleigh made states in the 400 yard free relay, 100 yard free, and 200 yard IM. She now owns the school record in the 100 yard breastroke, and hopes to make states for this event as well.
Coach’s Comment: “I think the best thing about Haleigh is that she is a sophomore so she is still young so we still have 2 more years that she is going to be here. And she has already proven what a strong swimmer she is. And we are just excited to see what she can do in the future. She is a great leader for our team.” – coach Courtney Farrell
What She Likes Most About Her Sport: “The camaraderie of the team, and how we are like a family. We win together we lose together, and we jam out on the bus.”
Best Sport Memory: “When we beat Montclair, in the second round of team states. And we have lost to them 5 years in a row and it was our goal to beat them this year and we beat them.”
