Senior leads the way for boys’ basketball team

Grade: Senior

Position: Small Forward

The Lowdown: Yellin has been the leading scorer for the Indians throughout the entire season. He has been a leader for the team in his senior year. In the past five games, he’s averaged 20.6 points per game.

Expectations: “We have four more regular season games, so hopefully we can win those and go to Wayne Hills for states.”

Coach’s Comment: “He’s been a leader for us and he’s been genuine about his accountability,” Coach Al Coleman said. “He’s taken ownership this year, so we’re really happy. He’s come a long way. He’s our primary scorer, but more so than that he’s become a real leader both on the court and off the court and that’s what I’m most proud of.”  Coleman also joked that Yellin owes him a social life since he made him “a star” at PV.

What He/She Likes Most About His/Her Sport: “I like the competitive nature of it. Everyone is always competing trying to make each other better.”

Best Sport Memory: “This year we played at River Dell and we were 1-7 going into the game and we beat them by two, and after that we started winning more games.”

Funniest Moment: “We have pasta parties before every home game and the whole team can agree that those are always funny.”
