Name: Sam Conjour

Sport: Track & Field

Grade: Junior

Events: Pole Vault & 4×400

The Lowdown: Conjour does track and field at Pascack Valley and recently became the girls’ league meet champ in the pole vault.

Goals: Getting her personal record (PR) up was her main goal coming into the season.

What She Likes Most About Track & Field: “I love everything about it. I love running with my friends and to exercise and I love to pole vault,” she said.

Proudest Track & Field Moment: Setting a new PR in pole vaulting.

Funniest Track & Field Moment: Goofing around with her pole vaulting teammates.

Best Thing About PV: Her friends and the student body.

Favorite Teacher: Anthony Judilla (PV science teacher) because he’s been both her coach and her teacher.

Favorite Subject: Science

Favorite Food: Chinese food

Favorite TV Show: The Office

Favorite Pro Athlete: Ray Lewis, because she is a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan, Terrell Suggs and Ed Reed are two of her other favorite players.

Favorite Animal: Monkey

One Superpower: Invincibility

What She Does In Her Free Time: Watches TV and plays soccer in her backyard.

One Thing People May Not Know: She has moved four times and used to live in Sweden.

Role Model: “[Former PV student] Melissa Purcell because she helped me out a lot when I was first learning how to pole vault,” she said.

Future Plans: “I want to go to college somewhere in the south and hopefully become a physician or physician’s assistant in the military,” she said.
