Something People Don’t Know About Track:
“You go through so much hard work: discomfort at practice, going to sleep early every night, eating healthy before races, and pushing yourself to the limit. Track changes your life style completely, but when you get to the last 100 meters of a race, it’s all worth it. The feeling is unexplainable, and that’s what I love.“ –Abby Lee
“Track, especially distance races, is just as much physical as mental. Unlike other sports, if you get tired you get taken out of the game. In track, you push yourself until you feel the pain, but you’re the only one stopping you from reaching your goals.“ – Chelsea Lee
“Most people think you run just as fast as you can but preparing for distance races is both mentally and physically challenging.“ – Ashley Evans
“It’s not easy.“ – Nikki Criscuolo
The girls also broke the school records this weekend for both the Distance Medley Relay (12:40.40) and the 4×1600 (22:09.60).
Jaimie Smith graduated in 2016.
