Cast of Anything Goes holds flash mob during lunch period
On Thursday, March 19, the cast members of PV’s spring musical, Anything Goes, held a flash mob in the Old Gym during the beginning of the lunch period. Speakers were set up prior to the flash mob so that everyone in the gym could hear the music, and the dance was recorded by Brandon Alvarado, a PV Theatre crew member.
After first meeting up in the auditorium, each cast member walked into the gym at the start of the lunch period and waited in the bleachers for the music to begin playing. As soon as it did, they all got up from their seats, made their way to the center of the gym, and began to dance. The other students in the bleachers who were eating lunch at the time were surprised by the performance, but were cheering the cast members on.
“I was shocked. As someone who doesn’t participate in theater, it was so cool seeing an organized dance, especially in such a random setting,” junior Evan Tinati said.
Of the many musical numbers in Anything Goes, the cast could only choose one song to perform. They decided on the upbeat song “Blow Gabriel Blow” since it was a full-cast number with strong choreography.
“I felt really proud of what we had done and that we were able to show off our hard work,” said freshman Amy Santo, an ensemble member of Anything Goes who participated in the flash mob.
