Cheerleading Looks to Build Off Strong Seniors and Tumbling
The cheer team prepares for the first football game on Friday, September 3rd against Hoboken.
Coach: Kacey Terzini, 8th year as head coach
Key Returners: Jady Salazar(Sr.), Kathryn Giordano(Sr.), Anna Saks(Sr.), Ava Kim(Jr.), and Evelyn Higgins(Jr.).
Key Losses: Allison Garrett, Alli Pessolano, Megan Sgroi
Key Newcomers: Laura Stark(Fr.), Marlee Klein(Fr.), Julia Steiger(Fr.), Ada Kesselman(Fr.), and Keira Jennings(Fr.).
Strength of team: “I think our strength is definitely tumbling which is flipping and [the] many great things we can do on the floor,” Terzini said. “The [team’s] technique is very [good as well].”
Weakness of team: “[Right now] our stunting would be our biggest weakness just because we have a lot of new additions,” Terzini said.
Outlook on the season: “My expectations would probably be to hit our halftime routine in the first game of the season,”Terzini said.
Coach’s Comment: “If we do not hit [the halftime routine] the first game, our [goal] would be to hit it the following week,” Terzini said.
