Strengths: “Johnny Allmers (Sr.), Antonio Cedano (Sr.), and Julian Morris (Sr.) are technically [our] captains. [But], every senior is a leader; they all have different levels of ability and they all have different levels of commitment to the sport,” Coach Gary Beyer said. “[This] plays well for us because there’s relatable characteristics for the underclassmen.”
Weaknesses: Beyer and Assistant Coach Michael Worthington think the team lacks some varsity experience in certain weight classes, but the coaches look to combat this using senior leadership
Outlook on the season: “We want the guys to have a positive experience and grow and learn as humans. We always want to have expectations; we want to win the league and become league champions,” Beyer said. “We do have high aspirations and expectations.”
“State sectionals, making a run postseason and obviously the Hills vs. Valley duels are always exciting under the spotlight,” Worthington said.
Coach’s Comment: “I think we have a solid group of guys, the numbers of our total roster is up compared to the last two…the more guys you have going against each other, the better it is overall,” Beyer said.
