Key Newcomers: Hannah Zeman (Fr.), Laura Jennings (Jr.), and Lindsay Jennings (Fr.).

Returning many players who were a part of last year’s state sectional title-winning team, Valley will certainly have many returning players who are responsible for its success this year. Not only will returning players will have an impact on how the team performs, but the Indians will turn to some of its younger players to contribute.

“[Our returners] are established players who can do many wonderful things on the court,” Jasper said. “What we do going forward has much to do with the new talent.”

Expectations: Despite coming off a successful season, Valley’s expectations are simple.

“[Our expectations are] to be better today than yesterday and better tomorrow than today,” Jasper said.

Outlook: Having an “overwhelming difficult schedule” this year, the Indians will need to rely on work ethic and discipline in order to continue to prosper throughout the season. Jasper preaches “never taking a drill off,” and that is exactly what Valley will need to do to conquer its difficult schedule this year.

“We must play hard, well and focused,” Jasper said. “That only comes from practicing the same way.”
