PV Perspective: Coming off three straight wins and two consecutive shutouts, the Indians have all the momentum in the world. Defensively, Phil Wong (6), Austin Piorkowski (3) and Charlie Looes (1.5) have all emerged as key players and have recorded 10.5 sacks between them, and Looes registered a blocked punt and recovered it for a touchdown last week, as well as recording an interception. On offense, Matt Urrea has again been the focal point, as he carried the ball nine times for 84 yards and two touchdowns. But, the Indians, up 35-0 at halftime, opted to pull their starters which paved the way for second stringers Sam Cassidy, Rob Arloro and Ricky Mizzoni to all score and contribute. PV’s ability to get to the quarterback early and their ability to spread the wealth and lean on secondary options at running back and receiver will be crucial.

Bergenfield Perspective: Coming off of a 13-0 shutout over Ridgefield Park, the Bears hope to continue momentum heading into the first round of the North 1 Group 3 playoffs next week. The Bears will hope that running back Carlos Macon, who rushed for 1165 yards last season, will be able to break out late in the season. Bergenfield is also coming off of three straight wins and will look to make it four straight heading into next week’s playoff game against No. 2 seeded Ramapo.

Key Matchup:

Valley Front-Seven vs. Bergenfield Offensive Line: Coming off a lockdown game for Wong, Piorkowski and Looes, the Bears offensive line will have a lot to deal with when it comes to those three. Bergenfield has a high powered offense that is averaging 25 points per game and has a talented running back in Macon.

Joe Campagna, Matt Urrea vs Bergenfield Defense: Campagna and Urrea are often aided by a solid offensive line, but two starting linemen may be out tonight, meaning Urrea and Campagna will have to shoulder more of the burden and carry the offense. Urrea is coming off his first game where he didn’t total 100+ rushing yards, and will look to rebound tonight.
