During the Nov. 21 Valley Cup assembly, Pascack Valley Principal Tom DeMaio announced that the basketball court in the PV new gym would be renamed Jasper Court in honor of Jeff Jasper. However, the celebration does not stop there for the Indians’ girls’ basketball coach.

Jasper, who last season became the first basketball coach in NJ history to win 1,000 ballgames, will be honored once again on Thursday night during a ceremony that kicks off at 7:30 p.m. in the PV new gym. According to PV athletic director Shawn Buchanan, member’s of Jasper’s family, friends, colleagues, and Pascack Valley Regional High School District board members will be among those in attendance. Buchanan said that Jasper will speak, and a few others will also make speeches in his honor.

A recent district-wide news blast said that the court is being renamed in order to “[honor] Jasper’s achievements as a coach and educator and his enduring contributions to the Pascack Valley High School community.”
