Key losses: Kim Pane (Goalie)
Key newcomers: Arianna Quevedo (Fr.), Kelly Smith (So.), Dominique Perini (So.), Danni Freeman (So.)
Strengths of team: The Indians have a lot of returning players from last year that have varsity experience. The team will use that experience to its advantage to help keep the girls poised and focused during tough game situations.
Areas that need improvement: This year some players are playing new positions they are not as familiar with, this downfall could be counteracted by the experience of the older team members. With new additions though, comes with the time that is needed for them to become comfortable with each other. Gina Criscuolo is new to the varsity goalie position because the team lost Kim Pane to graduation.
Outlook: Last season, the Indians had some ups and downs going 11-7-2, but did look strong during the state playoffs of last year. With many returning and new players for the Indians, the mix of the experience and youthfulness should bring a new attitude and tempo to the team. Getting comfortable is key for this team and the Indians need to work to achieve the balance a team like this needs.
Coach’s comment: “We are hoping this season that we get better each game. We are looking forward to a good season and looking to do well in the league, county and state tournaments.”
Sam Cassidy graduated in 2018.
