New office will be created for Superintendent

Pascack Valley Regional High School District Superintendent Erik Gunderson’s current office is located behind the Pascack Hills football field. His office is going to be torn down and relocated to a facility in Montvale. This construction is to allow for a field complex equal to the one at Pascack Valley to be made at Hills.

All other central offices and facilities will be relocated to Montvale as well.

The site work for this project has been started, and construction is supposed to start in May. The project will be completely finished in spring of 2018.

“This is one of the projects that we’ve had in the pipeline for quite some time,” Gunderson said.

Without the offices, there will be space to build a wheelchair access for the Hills football field and bleachers, add another tennis court, and create a softball field on Pascack Hills campus.

Bleachers are being added to have the same amount as Valley. Currently the softball team has to practice at Memorial Elementary School or the LaTrenta field.

“We did the tennis courts at Pascack Valley, and then we improved the parking flow at Pascack Valley,” Gunderson said. “Pascack Hills has been waiting some time for us to address the issues that they have and now it’s their turn to have a construction project that will bring them up to the same facilities that PV has.”

Once this project is finished, Gunderson is looking to have more renovations done at PV.

“We’ll also be looking at some additional classroom renovations,” Gunderson said. “In the future I’d like to see us really address the music wing in PV which is an area that is in dire need of renovation.”
