Nightly Wrap-Up 5/4/16

Track: Varsity Big North Championship at River Dell High School

Pascack Valley had an excellent showing in the Varsity Big North Championships.  Jeff Roberts continued dominating his competition, coming in first place in the 1600 meters and finishing second in the 800 meter.  Senior Evan Jones followed suit, with a third place finish in the 400 meter followed by a fourth place finish in the 200 meter.  Connor Jones, another standout senior, came in second place in the javelin.  For the girls, Ashley Evans also continued to shine, with a first place victory in the 3200 meter and a fourth place finish in the 1600 meter.  Chelsea Lee finished in second in the 800 meter and third in the 1600 meter, and her sister, Abby Lee, also ran very well earning third in the 400 meter and fifth in the 200 meter.

Golf: Match Vs. Dumont at Rockleigh Golf Course

Team leaders Will Gallagher, who shot the match low of a 42, and Rob Carcich and Calvin Ralph, each shooting a 45, lead Valley to its third consecutive win.  The low scoring resulted in Valley’s marginal victory over Dumont, 181-200.  The team is now 7-10 on the season and is looking to continue its hot streak.

Baseball: Game Vs. Teaneck at Hawthorne Elementary

The game was postponed due to rain.

Softball: Game Vs. Teaneck at Pascack Valley

Pascack Valley had a tough loss to Teaneck 9-7.  Alex Pleasic and Cara McMahon had solid outings on the mound, but the bats are what ultimately kept Valley in the game.  Hits by Christine Franklin, Nicole Franklin, Megan Viganola, and Ashley Lagrosa put runs on the board and enabled Valley to fight till the end.  The team hopes to be successful in the first round of counties tomorrow.

Tennis: Boys Match Vs. Teaneck at Pascack Valley

The match was postponed due to weather.
