November 2022 Valley Cup Highlights
Today, Nov. 23 was the last Valley Cup before Thanksgiving Break. There were three competitions: a relay race, tug-of-war, and a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.
For the relay race, one student from each graduating class had to eat a pie with no hands. Then, another peer would spin in circles with a bat on the ground, then carry a ball on a spoon to half court. A third peer would juggle a soccer ball, with their feet, to the other side of the basketball court. Lastly, a student would jump in a sack back to half court. Whichever class reached half court first won.
The second competition of Valley Cup was tug-of-war. There were three matches: freshman vs. sophomores, juniors vs. seniors, and the championship. The sophomores beat freshman and the juniors beat the seniors. So, the juniors and sophomores went into the championship. The juniors ended up winning the championship and the tug-of-war portion of Valley Cup.
Afterwards, the juniors played all teachers who played on the teams of tug-of-war. The teachers beat the juniors, but this did not change the scoring of tug-of-war.
For the third and final competition, there was a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. First, the freshmen played the sophomores. The sophomores won. Then, the juniors played the seniors and the seniors won. For the championship, the sophomores played the seniors and the seniors won.
Once the relay race, tug-0f-war, and basketball tournament had ended, the points from Valley Cup were totaled and the seniors won the overall.
In addition to the relay race, tug-of-war, and basketball, the choir and drumline performed.
The choir sang the national anthem.
