OHANA holds fundraisers to support the foster care system
OHANA, which stands for “One Home and Never Alone,” is an organization created by one of PV’s honors sophomore English classes that strives to raise awareness and focus attention on the Foster Care system of the United States through awareness events, charity, and research.
The documentary trailer featured below is a small teaser of the full OHANA documentary, which will be released on May 18.
Throughout the year, OHANA has been preparing for their big event that will take place on May 18 during Pascack Periods A and B and during Senior Night the same evening at the last home baseball game.
During Pascack Periods A and B there is going to be an interactive assembly where the full documentary will be screened. Additionally, a few guest speakers involved with the Foster Care system are going to be present and a Q&A session will be held.
At the baseball game, OHANA will be hosting a “Beach Out.” There will be pizza, ice cream, and additional snacks and drinks.
The money raised at the event and from the bagel competition will be donated to Together We Rise, a non profit organization that provides travel bags, bicycles for transportation, and money for education, among many other things.
