Pascack Valley hosts second annual Inter-District Choir Festival
Last Thursday, Pascack Valley hosted the second annual Inter-District Choir Festival. Students participating in the choral programs at both Holdrum Middle School in River Vale and George White Middle School in Hillsdale were invited to perform at this event. The middle schoolers were able to get a taste of the choir program here at Pascack Valley.
The concert choir from Geroge White sang, directed by Mr. Christopher Hutter. Both the select choir and the concert choir from Holdrum performed as well. Mrs. Julie Teitsma directed both. The first act ended featuring a combined middle school choir with students from both Holdrum and George White singing together.
Under the direction of Ms. Argine Safari, different groups from Pascack Valley performed, including the chamber choir, Vivace Bells, the all-girls a capella group B Naturals, the all-boys a capella group Bro Squad, and a mixed Pascack Valley choir.
The concert ended with students from Holdrum, Geroge White, and Pascack Valley singing together.
The show featured musical numbers by Bruno Mars, Meghan Trainor and ABBA, as well as from the shows “Hairspray”, “Frozen”, “Les Miserables”, and “Pitch Perfect”. Songs were sung in many languages, including Swahili, Spanish, and Latin.
Lauren Cohen graduated in 2018.
