Strengths of team: Very strong group of returning seniors and juniors. Lots of guys can rotate spots and fill in.

Areas that need improvement: Seniors stepping up to provide leadership.

Outlook: The Indians are coming off a season in which they won the league title for the third straight year, and now find themselves in a position to possibly four-peat. Three-year starting goalkeeper Ulin has graduated, which means Sullivan will now step in at that position. Nygren expressed pleasure with how Sullivan has performed at preseason practices and scrimmages. Nygren is also very impressed with his returning junior class, and knows that he has a number of sophomores and juniors who can contribute this year. O’Connor, Noone, and Palamidis are a few of the players who must step up and help the Varsity team after leading PV’s JV squad to a 17-3 record in 2017.

Coach’s comment: “We’re ready to take the next step. They’ve been working real hard, they’ve given me great hope in terms of what’s in store this year. Everyone’s going to have to find their roles, and look to accomplish it. Everyone’s going to have to be on the same page and embrace their job.”
