For as long as he can remember, junior Ryan Miller has been playing as No. 3, but also has been pursuing his passion: soccer.

Eleven years later, he is playing in his second season for the boys soccer team here at Pascack Valley. Miller plays as a center midfielder, and a center forward, often known for putting shots on goal. In this season alone, he has scored twelve goals, followed by four of assists.

“I love how soccer is a team sport, not just based off of one person, who controls everything. Soccer is all about building relationships with your teammates, on and off the field. I’ve made a lot of great friends through this sport,” Miller said.

Obviously, Miller likes to win, but is always known as keeping a positive attitude, no matter what the score is at the end of the game. “The energy before the game is intense, I get excited-hyped up to let it all out on the field,” he said.

While there is no specific professional player Miller looks up to, he follows the Manchester City Football Club.

When asked about Miller, Nygren had nothing but positive things to say.

“Ryan has a great work rate,” he said. “He covers a lot of the field, specifically from the 18-to-the-18. He has the ability to connect with the forwards, like Michael Lin, Alex Lin, and Andrew Varteresian.”

Speaking of Michael Lin, stay tuned for next week’s profile on him!
