The PV choir will be hosting their annual Halloween Talent Night on Oct. 28 at 7 pm in the auditorium and will be streamed on PVTV aswell.

“I was so excited to hear my students get on that stage and perform again,” advisor of PV choir and music teacher Argine Safari said. “They were rehearsing some group numbers, and I literally had chills, listening to them performing live.”

Safari shared that numerous faculty members will be participating in the Talent Night including chemistry teacher Anthony Judilla, guidance counselor Jennifer Kuo, and 2013 PV alum and teaching assistant Max Adoff. 

“This is Max’s first year teaching at Pascack Valley and he’s so excited to be back on the PV stage,” Safari said. “He was a member of the PV choir and he has an amazing voice. He’s going to open the second act of the show, singing Sinatra.”

Adoff said that he is excited to see everyone doing their own thing and shared that he was refreshed by the community of people who were willing to “get out there and show their talents.”

“It had been a while but just to see everyone kind of do their thing, it was really enjoyable. I enjoyed seeing students so expressive and able to showcase what they enjoy doing,” Adoff said.

Safari explained that along with the Halloween Talent night performances, there will be a number of prizes and contests including best Halloween costume, best group costume, scariest or funniest costume, and best performance which relies on the audience’s vote.

“Eighth graders [from both middle schools] have been invited to come as well and those who will be in the audience will get a prize at the very end of the show,” Safari said.

During the event, COVID-19 protocols will be enforced. 

Safari said that audience members will be instructed to sit at least two seats apart from any none family members as well as be asked to sanitize their hands upon entering the building. As far as refreshments go, Safari explained that snacks will be individually packaged and students handing out the refreshments will be wearing disposable gloves.

“There’s a lot of excitement in the air about the fact that this will be the first big in-person event at PV [since 2019]. [There is] also a little bit of [a] hesitation, I believe, from the audience members [about COVID-19] so we are making sure that everything is properly following [the] guidelines,” Safari said.
