An individual at Pascack Valley tested positive for COVID-19, according to an email sent to the district on Oct. 14 by district Superintendent Erik Gundersen. 

“The individual was exposed over this past weekend at a non-school related event,” Gundersen wrote in the email. “Local health officials, working in conjunction with the district, are following their contact tracing protocol and contacting those who may have been potentially exposed through close contact (closer than 6 feet and for a time period longer than 10 minutes) with this individual.”

PV will be fully remote tomorrow and operate on a B1 schedule. According to the email, all students will be required to check-in to all classes and all in-person extracurricular activities are cancelled for Oct. 15. 

“The fully remote day at Pascack Valley High School will allow for the process of contact tracing to take place safely,” Gundersen wrote. 

Pascack Hills will still operate on an in-person B1 schedule tomorrow, according to the email. 

The district will continue to update the community regarding contact tracing and “school operations for subsequent days,” according to the email. 

“We know this is a difficult time and news like this can cause a great deal of concern,” Gundersen wrote in the email. “Please know that the district is taking every precaution possible, in conjunction with local health officials, to provide the safest environment for our students and staff.”
