Nightly Sports Wrap-Up 5/11/16
Baseball: County Tournament Game Vs. Waldwick at Waldwick High School
Pascack Valley got the win yesterday 16-8 against Waldwick in the County Tournament. On the mound Mike Pimpinella was tremendous and got the win. On the offensive side Alex Criscuolo had a home run, while Matt Novakowski and Jack Devanna each had 5 RBI’s with multiple extra base hits. Also, Frankie Cascio and Carson Weiss each had RBI’s while freshman Justin Martin had 2.
Softball: Game Vs. Ramapo at Ramapo High School
The softball team routed Ramapo by a final of 13-1. Alex Pleasic dominated on the mound while hitting a homer as well. Senior Ashley Lagrosa crushed a triple and continued her fine hitting this season. Izzy Bussanich made some great plays in the field and freshman Madison Gallo was strong behind the plate.
Girls Lacrosse: Game Vs. Montclair Kimberley Academy at Montclair Kimberley Academy
The girls lacrosse team lost by a final score of 17-8 today against Montclair Kimberley Academy. Unfortunately, the final score did not go PV’s way, but some positive signs did come from this game, especially Jenny LaRocca scoring 4 goals.
Boys Tennis: Game Vs. Tenafly at Tenafly High School
The boys tennis team lost 5-0 against Tenafly. Austin Davis, playing first singles lost 0-6 1-6. Jeremy Collier, who played second singles was defeated 0-6 0-6. Ethan Zindel, at 3rd singles lost 1-6 0-6. For the doubles matches, Josh Cohn and Alec Corring lost 0-6 1-6 while Christian Previtali and Jonathan Antebi lost 1-6 3-6.
