Sparta beats Pascack Valley’s girls soccer in State Sectional Finals
Sparta girls soccer, beats Pascack Valley with a considerable goal difference on Nov. 12 at 2pm in Sparta.
The end score was 4-0. Kate Mezzella from Sparta High school scored two of the four goals. One during the first half, and one in the second half. Mezzella also had 1 assist during the game. Goals were scored by No. 12, Olivia Enderle and No. 14, Julia Dolinski as well.
Valley’s girls soccer State Section Finals by Smoke Signal
Numerous saves were made by Isabella Matthews, the Valley girls soccer goalie.
Matthews has a total of 64 saves in the 2021 soccer season alone.
One of the many saves that happened during the first half, was when Mezzella kicked the ball towards the goal. Matthews reached out and blocked the ball away from the goal. Abigail Connors shot the ball on the net and just barely missed. The ball went out of bounds and the play ended.
Number 12 of the Spartans scores the first goal of the game reviving the pass from number 8.
