Sports Nightly Wrap-Up 4/19/16
Girls Lacrosse: The girls lacrosse team bounced from a hard loss on the 13th and took down Morristown Beard by the same score in which the team lost to Saddle River Day, 18-11. Jenny LaRocca and Natalie Bade led the team in goals, both with four. Katie Gallagher and Ana Beyer both had three apiece. Finally, Juliet Alves had two goals while Jillian LaRocca and Jennifer Tran both had one goal each.
Next Game: On Thursday, the Indians are away against Mahwah High School
Softball: The PV softball team won its game against New Milford 5-4. Freshman Cara McMahon pitched another great game, and she was able to hold off New Milford. Ashley Lagrosa hit the walk off single in the eighth inning to finish the game off in extra innings. There were a pair of great plays with the leather, as Christine Franklin and Izzy Bussanich made some expectation succeeding plays for the Indians.
Next Game: Tomorrow on Wednesday, the girls are at Ridgewood in Veterans Park
Tennis: Once again, the Pascack Valley boys tennis team had a rough go out on their home courts. Falling 1-4 to Ramsey, it marks their seventh loss of the season compared to the team’s one win against Hackensack. Austin Davis was the only victor of his match, winning his two sets by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Ethan Zindel lost his second singles match 2-6, 1-6. In first doubles, Jordan Lauber and Alec Corring lost 1-6, 2-6. Captain Josh Cohn and Adam Aloi lost their second doubles match by the same exact score. Jeremy Collier had the best shot at a win out of everybody who lost, but lost his third singles match when he lost a tiebreaker 7-10 after splitting the first two sets 6-4, 1-6.
Next Game: The Indians are home Wednesday against Wayne Hills
Golf: The Pascack Valley Golf Team lost to River Dell by a score of 166-181 at Edgewood Country Club. Will Gallagher and Henry Tipping both led the team with lows of 44, while River Dell’s lowest scorer shot a 35, Nick Miller. Now 4-5, the Indians goal is to get back to a .500 record.
Next Game: Indians are away against Tenafly and Pascack Hills Wednesday at Knickerbocker Country Club.
