Student Council running “Caps for Kids” fundraiser
On Friday, the Pascack Valley student council is asking PV students and faculty to wear a cap to school and/or bring $1, or whatever you can afford, to raise money and awareness for the Caps For Kids foundation. The “cap” could be a baseball hat, a winter hat, a beanie, a crazy hat, and so on.
The Executive Council will make its rounds around the school during fourth period this Friday to collect donations. Also, at lunch, they will be taking pictures of everyone with their caps in the new gym.
Caps For Kids is a non profit organization dedicated to providing children who are diagnosed and undergoing treatment for cancer or other life threatening illnesses the chance to get a cap autographed by the celebrity of their choice.
For children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy treatments, the caps help them establish a special bond with their celebrity hero. The children gain strength from the autographed caps, and feel as though their celebrity hero is beside them in every treatment and fight in the battle against cancer.
