Swifties, you will want to grab your cardigans and head to your nearest theater as soon as possible to watch the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” film. There was so much excitement in the theater, much like an actual concert environment, with many audience members dressed in costumes representing different eras. Some people dressed in purple to represent the “Speak Now” album, and others wore pajamas from the “You Belong With Me” music video. Other fans sported Taylor Swift merch from The Eras Tour concerts and from others of Swift’s previous concerts.
For those who were unable to see Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concert in person, the film gave fans the opportunity to experience the show on a big screen, and Swift did not disappoint. She took the audience through a 17-year musical journey that lasted three hours.
While t-shirts and sweatshirts are not for sale at movie theaters’ concession stands, popcorn buckets, cups, and tote bags with light-up batons are available. Much of the merchandise was sold out within the first day of being in theaters, but certain theaters plan to restock in the coming days. With the purchase of admission to the movie, theater-goers receive a small-sized poster of Taylor Swift striking a pose in the “Lover” era costume.
Unlike any other movie I have attended, the audience was not expected to sit quietly in its seats. The aisles in the theater were filled with people dancing and singing who just wanted to “Shake It Off” along to her songs. Similar to The Eras Tour concerts, audience members crossed the aisles to trade friendship bracelets as well.
For each era, Swift changed her wardrobe to coincide with the album from that particular era. The colors of the stage were illuminated in pastel colors during the “Lover” era and transformed to gold for the “Fearless” era with Swift wearing a gold dress. I liked that the clothing and sets brought back a sense of nostalgia from each of her eras.
Whether you are “Fifteen,” “22,” or someone who will “Never Grow Up,” Swift’s music appeals to all ages.
If you were unable to attend one of her live concerts, I highly recommend going to the movie to experience what it is like to be a Swiftie at The Eras Tour. Once the movie is over, you will want it to “Begin Again”.
I would give “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” five out of five stars because the audience is given the unique experience of getting out of its seats, dancing, and singing to Taylor Swift songs—as if it’s a real concert. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
