Team effort fuels victory on the courts
Ruback gets help from teammates in win over Westwood.
The PV Girls Tennis team won in impressive fashion over Westwood this past Friday. In only the team’s second win of the season, the girls ruled the courts. PV won each position, which resulted in a 5-0 sweep. First singles: Brianna Ruback, Second singles: Noelle Garbaccio, Third singles: Jess Ruback, First doubles: Grace Cho and Lauren Dentato, Second doubles: Katie Revie and Natalie Bade.
Brianna Ruback was able to continue her remarkable winning streak, as well. She was able to record wins against Westwood and also Demarest (9/22). Cho also won her match against Demarest at the third singles position 6-3, 1-6, 10-7. These wins kept Ruback undefeated on the season until Saturday.
In the Bergen County Tournament held Saturday (9/26) at Demarest, Ruback was able to advance from the first round after a win over her opponent from Cliffside Park. But in the following round, Ruback was defeated by Sasha Shumyatsky of Tenafly. Shumyatsky is the defending champion of the tournament.
