Head Coach: Ken DelSanto (9th year)
Last year’s record: 11-8 (5-5 in Big North)
Key Losses: Leesung Dang
Key Returners: Mason Herzog (Sr.), Evan Hwang (So.), Evan Starr (Sr.), Nicholas Tabano (Sr.), Robert Wasserman (Sr.)
Key Newcomers: Max Buchanan (Fr.), Suren Makichyan (Fr.)
Strength of the team: “Our strength is definitely our depth,” DelSanto said. “We have a lot of strong players, so if anybody goes down [or] gets injured, we have a lot of people that can step up and fill a big role when we need them.”
Weakness of the team: “Maybe experience [is our weakness],” DelSanto said. “Some of the guys who are returning are returning for only their second year… We have a couple of sophomores returning who will only have one year of varsity tennis under their belt.”
Outlook on the season: “We have some pretty high aspirations,” DelSanto stated. “We’d like to make a dent in the state tournament, maybe win a couple of rounds, get our guys as far in the counties as possible, and try to beat Old Tappan and Demarest.”
Coach’s Comment: “I’m looking forward to the season,” DelSanto said. “ I think this will be one of the stronger teams we’ve had in the past ten years. So, I’m excited to see where they take us this year.”
