The School For Good And Evil: ‘one of the best movies out this year’
Warning: spoilers
With nostalgia from the classic fairy tales and an alluring plot, “The School for Good and Evil” is one to see.
The two main characters are Sophia Anne Caruso from “The Sound of Music Live” playing Sophie and Sofia Wylie from “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” playing Agatha in the new movie, “The School for Good and Evil.”
Caruso and Wylie are extremely skilled actors and portrayed the main characters very well.
On Oct. 21, Netflix released the film adaptation of “The School for Good and Evil.”
The movie was originally a book written by Soman Chainani in 2013.
Every year two children are kidnapped from their homes and brought to “The School for Good and Evil”. One child is always a goody-two-shoes and the other is socially considered bad. The school is separated into two different sections, one being the School for Good and the other the School for Evil.
This year, Sophie and Agatha are selected. Sophie is the goody-two-shoes and Agatha is the less favorable, recluse.
Once the girls arrive at the school, they are placed into opposite schools. Sophie is placed into the School for Evil and Agatha in the School for Good– the complete opposite of what one would expect.
At first it is thought to be a mistake, but the girls soon learn otherwise.
This was one of the best movies I have seen all year.
Throughout the movie, Sophie and Agatha’s personalities developed and it was very interesting to see. Sophie starts off as a very put-together girl, whereas Agatha is more of a side character to Sophie.
After the girls reach the school, Sophie turns evil and tries to take over the School for Good. Agatha becomes the hero and plays more of a main part of the plot.
The special effects were excellent, as well. The magical aspects such as the dead souls in the lake and mystical powers that each student holds are portrayed very well through the special effects.
Overall, I would give this movie a 10/10 stars. Honestly, there was nothing I could complain about; this movie was superb.
