No. 1 Pascack Valley Football (9-1) defeated No. 4 Montville (7-3) 28-12 in the second round of the NJSIAA North 1, Group 3 playoffs at home on Friday, Nov. 8.
Valley started off with an 18-yard touchdown pass from QB Adam Shaw (Jr.) to RB Colin McMorrow (Jr.), giving the Panthers an early 7-0 lead over Montville. This score remained through the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Panthers scored on a one-yard run by RB Kevin Regula (Sr.), extending the lead to 14-0 in favor of Valley going into halftime.
Valley RB Kai Smith (Jr.) ran for a 58-yard touchdown, and QB Adam Shaw (Jr.) ran for a 25-yard touchdown in the third quarter—increasing the Panthers lead to 28-0. The score remained 28-0 through the end of the third quarter.
Montville’s offense scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, as QB Michael Ciullo (Sr.) threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to RB Anthony Feaster (Sr.). The Mustangs’ second touchdown came on a 49-yard run by RB Mike Vito (Sr.). Montville cut the lead to 28-12, which would be the final score.
Valley’s Shaw finished the game completing ten of his 13 passes for 120 yards. He had one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown.
Pascack Valley now moves onto the NJSIAA North 1, Group 3 Finals, and will take on a familiar foe in River Dell on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. at PV.
