The Pascack Valley Football Team will take on Teaneck High School tonight at 6 p.m. at home. The Panthers lost last week to Westwood in a back-and-forth battle, 21-7. Teaneck is also coming off a loss to Dumont, 20-14, last week.
Last season, Pascack Valley defeated Teaneck, 35-0, and the season before, 40-12. As Teaneck and Valley both come into this game 1-1 on the season, a win tonight would be huge for both league and playoff implications.
PV quarterback Michael Colletti (Sr.) played a majority of the snaps last week under center, while linebacker Adam Shaw (Sr.) took on more of a rushing role. Shaw had 84 rushing yards for Valley, along with 19 tackles— including two sacks on the defensive side.
Both teams are going to look to run the ball tonight, relying on their strong offensive lines and explosive running backs to create big plays for the offenses. The defenses will have tall tasks dealing with the threats of both rushing and passing.
Tonight’s matchup will be interesting, as it should be a competitive game. Valley, who is dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball, is looking to bounce back from last week.
Valley is looking to win at least two of its first three games of the season for the third consecutive season.
Tune in tonight at 6 p.m. for live updates on the @pvsportscenter X account.
