Volleyball team hopes to improve offensively

Head coach: Andrew Lewis (21st season)

Last year’s record: 9-10

Key returnees: Alyse Herburger (Sr. MH), Julia Dobre (Sr. OH), Olivia Leili (Sr. OPP), Shannon Geraghty (Sr. LIB)

Key losses: Abby Lee (OH), Jenna Westley (S), Collette Dabaghian (D), Caitlin Earls (Lib)

Key newcomers: Megan Viganola (So. DS), Laura Cubala (So. OH), Corinne Hermans (So. S)

Strengths of the team: One of the team’s biggest strengths is their defense.They have good blockers this year. They also pass the ball well and are good at serving and receiving the ball.

Areas that need improvement: A lot of the teams they play have good defense so they are going to need a stronger offense which means no hitting mistakes and they have to work on good passing.

Outlook: They play in a talented league but they have the ability to compete with these teams. The Indians have one goal that they set on day one which is to get a little bit better every time they step on the court.

Coach’s comment: “I’m really happy with the girls. They are working very hard they get along with each other very nicely. It’s a really nice group of girls.”
