Monday, September 15

GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS MATCH @ NVD | Loss 5-0

Girls tennis lost all of its matches against Demarest this past Monday.

GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL GAME @ NVD | Loss 2-0

Volleyball took a loss to Demarest, who remains undefeated at this point with 4 wins. It’s the first time Demarest has started 4-0 since 2021. Despite the loss, PV’s Maddy Romero (Sr.) recorded a game-high 25 digs, bringing her to 99 on the season.

BOYS VARSITY SOCCER GAME VS NVOT | Loss 2-1

Boys soccer fell to NVOT with Luca Lepore (So.) having the lone Valley goal.

Tuesday, September 16

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER GAME @ NVOT | Loss 1-0

Girls soccer’s only loss of the season comes in a one-goal loss to Old Tappan, despite 10 saves by Gabby Velecela (Jr.).

Wednesday, September 17

GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS MATCH @ BERGENFIELD | Win 4-1

The Girls Tennis Team had a dominant win, winning 5 sets 6-0.

GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL GAME VS HOLY ANGELS | Win 2-0

Volleyball got back into the win column on Wednesday, moving to 3-2 on the season. Riley Hirsch (Sr.) led the team in kills with 7.

Thursday, September 18

BOYS VARSITY SOCCER GAME VS BERGENFIELD | Win 2-1

Boys soccer gets back on track with a victory over Bergenfeld. Valley scored both of its goals in the first half and held Bergenfield goalless in the second half.

GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS MATCH @ TEANECK | Win 5-0

The Girls Tennis Team had a dominant win against Teaneck, only dropping one game between all three of its singles players.

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER GAME VS BERGENFIELD | Win 6-0

Girls soccer defeated Bergenfield 6-0 on Teacher Appreciation Night, with a mercy-rule in effect in the closing moments of the 2nd half.

Friday, September 19

GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS MATCH VS IHA | Win 4-1

Girls tennis moves to 3-1 on the week with a huge win against IHA. Abby Osso’s (Fr.) tiebreaker win helped lead the team to victory.

GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL GAME @ TEANECK | Win 2-0

Celia Torres’ (Sr.) 20 assists led volleyball to victory, moving their record on the year to 4-2.

Saturday, September 20

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER GAME @ WALDWICK | Win 2-0

Maddie Wu (Jr.) and Ciara Dersimonian (Sr.) scored in PV’s road victory against Waldwick, moving their record to 6-1 near the halfway point of the season.

BOYS VARSITY SOCCER GAME @ NORTHERN HIGHLANDS | Loss 3-1

Adrain Gutierrez (Sr.) scores the only goal for Valley during a difficult loss to Northern Highlands

FOOTBALL GAME VS Northern Highlands | Loss 39-13

Running back Christian Steiger (Sr.) had 95 rushing yards with a touchdown, as Valley suffered their second loss of the season to Northern Highlands, 39-13.

As a junior, Nathan Faber has been a member of The Valley Echo for two years and is now a Sports Editor. He has always enjoyed writing for the paper, and enjoys reading articles on football, basketball, and baseball. He has been on the Varsity Tennis Team since his freshman year. He is also a member of the Chess Club, Bee Club, This Week in Politics, and Habitat for Humanity. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, playing tennis, and golf. He hopes to continue writing more articles this year.

Zander Karalewich, Editor-in-Chief

Zander Karalewich is a junior at Pascack Valley High School and Editor-in-Chief of The Valley Echo. This is his third year with the student newspaper, where he previously served as a Staff Editor. Zander enjoys writing feature articles and school news for the paper. In addition to his role with The Echo, Zander is a member of Peer Leaders and an active member of clubs like This Week in Politics, Investment, and History, and plays golf for PV. He is also an event photographer for various publications.
