Girls Tennis @ Immaculate Heart Academy / 4-1 Loss:
The Girls Tennis Team opened up its season with a loss against Immaculate Heart Academy. Jordyn Ban (Jr.) commenced the scoring by winning her singles match (7-5 and 6-2). However, that would be the only point Valley scored as the team’s record on the season is now 0-1.

Girls Soccer vs River Dell / 2-0 Win:
The Girls Soccer Team won its first game of the season at home against River Dell, the team that sent PV Girls Soccer home last year in the Section 1 Group 2 Semifinal round. Amanda Polyniak (Sr.) opened up the scoring, which was then followed by a second first-half goal by Katelynn Park (Sr.). Although the game was canceled at half-time due to lightning, Valley’s lead resulted in the team’s opening game victory and 1-0 record.
Friday, Sep. 8
Girls Volleyball @ Dwight Morrow / 2-0 Win (25-10) (25-10):
Jillian Feeley (Jr.) and Mia Hachadourian (Sr.) each recorded five kills in Valley Volleyball’s opening-day game at Dwight Morrow, leading Valley to its first win on the season. Josie Gallina (Sr.) also contributed to the party with ten assists and two aces. The girls seek to continue their success when they take on Demarest Monday, Sep. 11th.

Boys/Girls Cross Country – Season Opener Invitational @ Darlington County Park:
The Boys Cross Country Team finished 10th out of 17 teams in its first meet of the season. Leading the way, Patrick Kurtz (Sr.) finished in 20th place, running the 5K in 17:35, while Marcus Koshy (So.) finished in 24th place, running the 5K in 18:02.
Meanwhile, the Girls Cross Country Team finished 8th out of 9 teams. Individually, Ellie Buchanan (Jr.) finished in 36th place, running the 5K in 24:53, while Sofia Alepa (Jr.) finished in 41st place, running the 5K in 25:28.
Football @ Paramus / 41-21 win:
RB Kevin Regula (Jr.) ran for an impressive 261 yards and 5 touchdowns as Valley Football cruised to its second win of the season, this time over Paramus. QB Adam Shaw (So.) added 121 rushing yards, 98 passing yards, and 1 passing touchdown. Defensively, LB Jake Merlino (Sr.) led the team in tackles with 11; LB Dante Ricciardi (Jr.) recorded 10 tackles along with a forced fumble and interception. Valley (2-0) will travel to Old Tappan (2-0) for its week three matchup on Thursday, Sep. 14.
