The girls tennis defeated Bergenfield, 4-1 in Monday’s contest. Jillian Herzog (Fr.), Gabrielle Rothenberg (Jr.) and Alexa Ganz (So.) all won their singles’ matches. Sophia Loeser (Sr.) and Sedona Martin (Sr.) won their doubles match as well.
Volleyball @ Bergenfield | 2-1 WIN
The girls volleyball team defeated Bergenfield on Monday. Jillian Feeley (Jr.) had 10 kills, Alexys Bland (Jr.) had 2 blocks, Maddy Romero (So.) had 17 digs, Josie Gallina (Sr.) had 11 assists and Eve Jarosz (Sr.) had 9 aces in the win.

Girls Tennis @ Pascack Hills / 3-2 LOSS
The girls tennis team, the No.5 seed in the 2023 Girls Tennis – NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 Tournament, lost to No.4 seeded Pascack Hills 3-2. Jordyn Ban (Sr.) won her singles match, and Alexa Ganz (So.) and Kristina Wegner (So.) won their doubles match.
Girls Soccer @ Old Tappan / 2-1 WIN
The girls soccer team defeated Old Tappan 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday. Celina Bussanich (Jr.) and Ella Saxon (Jr.) scored the two goals for PV. Allie Polyniak (So.) and Amanda Polyniak (Sr.) both notched an assist. Goalie Gabby Velecela (Fr.) recorded 13 saves in the win.
Boys Soccer vs. Old Tappan / 2-1 WIN
The boys soccer team defeated Old Tappan 2-1. Steven Gifford (Jr.) scored twice in the first half, with assists from Robert Wasserman (Jr.) and Daniel Lin (Sr.). Bennett Scalia (Sr.) recorded 8 saves in the game.

The Valley Girls Volleyball team fell to Ramapo, in consecutive sets. Jillian Feeley (Jr.) had 9 kills, Alexys Bland (Sr.) had 2 blocks, Maddy Romero (So.) had 8 digs. Feeley and Romero each recorded 1 ace in the loss.

Girls Soccer @ Bergenfield / 3-1 WIN
The girls soccer team defeated Bergenfield 3-1 in their match on Thursday. Amanda Polyniak (Sr.) led the way with 2 goals, and her sister, Allie Polyniak (So.) had 1 goal. Allie Polyniak and Katelynn Park (Sr.) each had one assist. Gabby Velecela (Fr.) had 3 saves in the match.
Girls Volleyball vs. Tenafly / 2-0 WIN
The volleyball team defeated Tenafly in two sets: 25-19, 25-20. Jillian Feeley (Jr.) had 12 kills, Mia Hachadourian (Sr.) had 3 blocks, Maddy Romero (So.) had 15 digs, and Celia Torres (So.) had 19 assists in the win for the Panthers.
Boys Soccer vs. Bergenfield / 2-0 WIN
The boys soccer team defeated Bergenfield 2-0 on Thursday night. Daniel Lin (Sr.) and Steven Gifford (Jr.) scored a goal a piece for Valley. Gifford and Ethan Perlman (Sr.) had an assist each as well. Bennett Scalia (Sr.) recorded 8 saves in the match.

Girls Tennis vs. Paramus / 5-0 WIN
The Pascack Valley Girls Tennis finished their season with a win against Paramus 5-0. Jordyn Ban (Jr.), Jillian Herzog (Fr.) and Gabrielle Rothenberg (Jr.) all won their singles matches. Alexa Ganz (Fr.) and Kristina Wegner (So.), and Sophia Levine (So.) and Sophia Loeser (Sr.) won their doubles matches. Valley finished 7-12 on the year, and 4-6 in Big North – National play.
Football vs. River Dell / 48-27 WIN
The Pascack Valley Football team defeated River Dell in the “Rumble for the Rail” rivalry game, 48-27. Adam Shaw (So.) was 4/10 with 71 passing yards and a passing touchdown. Kevin Regula (Jr.) had 176 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns in the win. Along with his 71 passing yards, Shaw had 88 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown. Kai Smith (So.) had 70 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Smith also returned a kickoff for a touchdown, a huge momentum shifter allowing Valley to earn the win.

Girls Volleyball @ Pope John XXIII / 2-0 WIN
The girls volleyball team defeated Pope John XXIII in two sets. Mia Hachadourian (Sr.) had 7 kills and 2 blocks. Maddy Romero (So.) had 11 digs and Celia Torres (So.) had 7 assists. Eve Jarosz (Sr.) added 4 aces in the win.

The boys soccer team defeated Teaneck 4-0 on Senior Night. Valley had 4 different goal scorers on the night: Steven Gifford (Jr.), Robert Wasserman (Jr.), Daniel Lin (Sr.) and Adrian Cano (So.). Aidan O’Brien (Sr.) had 2 assists, and Gifford and Wasserman each had 1 assist. Bennett Scalia (Sr.) recorded 5 saves in the match.

The girls volleyball team defeated Teaneck in two sets, scoring 25-12 and 25-17. Mia Hachadourian (Sr.) had 7 kills and 3 blocks, Lucy Gallina (Sr.) had 8 digs, Celia Torres (So.) had 22 assists, and Tegan Feeley (Sr.) had 6 aces in their win.

On Senior Night, the PV girls defeated Tenafly 4-0. Allie Polyniak (So.), Amanda Polyniak (Sr.), Maddie Wu (Fr.), and Tara Stewart (Sr.) each scored in the win. Sarah Mastowski (Sr.) and Ciara Dersimonian (So.) each had an assist as well.
Boys Soccer @ Tenafly / 3-2 LOSS
After being down 2-0 at halftime, PV almost mounted the comeback, but fell 3-2. Daniel Lin (Sr.) scored twice in the second half for Valley, coming off the assists of Robert Wasserman (Jr.) and Adrian Cano (So.).
Friday, Oct. 20
Football vs. Bergenfield / 21-14 WIN
Valley football defeated Bergenfield 21-14. The game was called at halftime due to weather conditions. Colin Foley (Sr.) and Kevin Regula (Jr.) each had a rushing touchdown for PV. Adam Shaw (So.) and Owen Deady (Sr.) also connected on a 33 yard touchdown pass. Valley finished the regular season with a record of 6-2, with their 2 losses coming to ranked New Jersey teams. Pascack Valley will be the 3 seed in the State Tournament and will take on 6 seeded West Morris on Friday, Oct. 27, with the time to be announced.
Saturday, Oct. 21
Girls Soccer @ Teaneck / 7-0 WIN
The girls soccer team defeated Teaneck 7-0. All 7 goals came from 7 different players: Ella Saxon (Jr.), Ciara Dersimonian (So.), Allie Polyniak (So.), Sarah Mastowski (Sr.), Lidia Guerriero (Jr.), Avery Stein (Fr.), and Natalie Weissman (Jr.). Amanda Polyniak (Sr.) had 3 assists, Sarah Mastowski (Sr.) had 2 assists, and Ciara Dersimonian (So.) had 1 assist. Pascack Valley will be the 1 seed in the State Tournament and will take on 16 seeded Becton on a date to be determined.
Boys Soccer vs. Demarest / 2-1 WIN
The boys soccer team defeated Demarest 2-1. Nico Mercado (Sr.) scored 2 goals, one coming in the first 3 minutes of the game, and the other coming in the last 3 minutes of the game. Steven Gifford (Jr.) assisted Mercado on his first goal. Pascack Valley will be the 7 seed in the State Tournament and will take on 10 seeded Manchester Regional on a date to be determined.
