The Lowdown: Wong has helped lead her team to a strong start thus far, as the Indians have a 10-0 record. She is averaging just over 11 points per game this year, with her season high of 20 points coming in the season opener against Teaneck.

Expectations: Wong has high expectations for her team for the rest of this season. She hopes the team can continue its strong play and advance even farther than it did a year ago, when the Indians played in the New Jersey Tournament of Champions.

What She Likes Most About Her Sport: “My teammates. That’s my favorite thing; just playing with them.”

Best Sport Memory: An annual event that takes place over the summer called Kidnap. The seniors on the basketball team “kidnap” the younger players and the whole team spends time together. Wong said that the event was a lot of fun.

Proudest Moment on the Court: “Winning the Poli Tournament for the first time last year because [PV hadn’t] won it in 14 years.”

Funniest Moment: When the players made a music video and did Zumba during practice.

Best Thing About PV: “Everyone here is so nice and so close to each other and [it is nice] having everyone there to support you.”

How Does It Feel To Be Apart of Jasper’s 1,000th Win: “It is honestly so cool because 1,000 is obviously a lot. And he started this program and he has been there since the beginning… It really means a lot to him

Best Thing About Jasper: Wong truly appreciates his honesty. She acknowledges that while Jasper can be tough on his players, he is extremely truthful to everyone about how well they are doing on the court and that brings out the best in everyone.

Favorite Jasper Moment: “Sometimes he just looks at me and shakes his head and laughs.”

Future Plans: Wong verbally committed to play basketball at Pace University last year. She is not sure what she wants to study yet but she is excited and wants to do well on and off the court.
