Monday, May 9

Softball at Old Tappan | Valley 4 – Old Tappan 14 (F/6)

Softball lost to league rivals, Old Tappan, in a rematch of the County Tournament Round of 16. Old Tappan scored a run in every inning and eventually forced the game to end early due to the mercy rule.

Boys Tennis vs. St. Joseph | Valley 4 – St. Joseph 1 

Valley defeated St. Joseph’s by a score of 4-1. Ethan Ganz and Connor Shirey won their singles matches in two sets, while Mazon Herzog & Noah Silver and Brendan Kim & Jack Benson won their doubles matches in two sets. Alex Rothenberg lost his singles match in two sets. 

Baseball at River Dell | Valley 14 – River Dell 7

Baseball bested River Dell in a high-scoring affair, 14-7. Valley scored eight out of their 14 runs in the last two innings. 

Girls Lacrosse vs. Gov Livingston | Valley 9 – Gov Livingston 11

Abbi Uhl’s four goals were not enough to propel Valley to victory as they fell to Gov Livingston, 9-11. Mary Looes also had two goals and an assist while Jayden Rosenthal had a goal along with three assists.

Tuesday, May 10

Boys Tennis vs. Old Tappan | Valley 1 – Old Tappan 4

Boys Tennis suffered a tough defeat to Old Tappan, 1-4. All singles, except for Ethan Ganz, lost their matches. Both doubles also lost their matches in two sets.

Boys Lacrosse at West Milford | Valley 7 – West Milford 10

Evan Leili scored two goals while James Graizzaro, Grady Pfeifer, Ian Geraghty, Colin Foley and Ben Torres scored a goal, but after falling behind 7-3 during halftime, the effort wasn’t enough.

Wednesday, May 11

Boys Tennis vs. Mahwah | Valley 2 – Mahwah 3

Boys Tennis took a tough loss to Mahwah by a score of 2-3. Rothenberg, Ganz and Kim lost their respective singles matches while Herzog & Silver won their match in three sets. Benson & Kamran Ghavami won their match in two sets.

Softball vs. Bergenfield | Valley 1 – Bergenfield 0

Softball bounced back and edged Bergenfield behind their lone run scored by Kiara Selby in the first inning. 

Girls Lacrosse at Passaic Tech | Valley 15 – Passaic Tech 3

Valley won by a score of 15-3 over Passaic Tech. Abbi Uhl scored six goals while Courtney Pellisson and Mary Looes had a pair of goals.

Thursday, May 12 

Boys Lacrosse vs. Oratory | Valley 12 – Oratory 6

Boys Lacrosse took care of business in its final home game of the regular season. James Graizzaro had four goals along with Torres’ three goals and two assists. 

Friday, May 13 

Baseball vs. Ridgewood | Valley 11 – Ridgewood 1 (F/5)

Valley mercied a good Ridgewood team in five innings. Danny Schwartz pitched all five innings.

Girls Lacrosse vs. Pompton Lakes | Valley 14 – Pompton Lakes 4

Valley dominated Pompton Lakes in its regular-season finale. Mary Looes had four goals and four assists, Abbi Uhl had four goals, and Leah Glasser had three goals. 

Softball vs. Teaneck | Valley 7 – Teaneck 0

Softball defeated Teaneck in its final game of the regular season. Valley (#12 seed) will take on Tenafly (#5 seed) in the first round of the state tournament on Tuesday. Valley and Tenafly’s season series is tied up at 1-1. 

Saturday, May 14 

Boys Lacrosse | Valley 3 – Paramus 6

Boys Lacrosse fell to Paramus, 6-3 in a gritty game. With the loss, Valley drops to 7-9 on the season. 

Baseball | Valley 4 – Ramapo 17

A 9-run fifth inning propelled Ramapo over Valley in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament.
