Board of Education Candidate Cheat Sheet
With the Pascack Valley Regional District Board of Education Election coming to a close on Nov. 3, The PV Student Publication has given the community an opportunity to get to know this year’s candidates through “cheat sheets” based on responses made by candidates themselves.
While there are four candidates running for two open seats in Hillsdale, two candidates each are running for one open seat in Montvale and Woodcliff Lake
Gini Varghese, Arnold Scher, Kristin Martin, and Pat Luisi have all filed for Hillsdale seats. In Woodcliff Lake, David Steinberg and Kelly Blundo are running for one open seat, and Micahel Weaver and Singleton Beato are both candidates for one open seat in Montvale.
Scher and Steinberg are the only two candidates who are current BOE members seeking re-election while the rest of the candidates are first-time runners.
Each term runs three years, and the deadline for nominating petitions was July 27, according to Pascack Press.
