Freshmen adjusting to life at PV

The courtyard appears to be the hot new place to be during lunch. Gathered in one of the corners of it recently were several members of the class of ‘18.

Freshmen Elizabeth, Julia, and Lauren Parisi, (triplets)  Sophia Velasco, Vanessa Pikulski, and Olivia Stalknecht appeared to be eating happily and enjoying PV life so far.

Comparing PV to middle school, Julia Parisi said, “I do like it better; they treat you like an adult.”

“It’s a lot of people that are willing to help you,” her sister Lauren added.

Asked what they were most looking forward to as a freshman, they all agreed pep rallies and football games would be the most fun.

Having Hillsdale and Rivervale meshed together for the first time can be a bit intimidating, but these girls said they were excited because they “really like meeting new people.”

The next day, Christian Stremler, Michael Pirsos, and Elan Hort were enjoying lunch in the courtyard. The trio of boys said they were looking forward to sports seasons, with Stremler adding, “I hope to get better at soccer.”

The freshmen class advisors are Mr. Christopher Nilsen and Ms. Christina Rossi. Mr. Nilsen gave some great advice saying, “While you might not know what your passions are, use this time to find and explore them!  Get involved in “The Tribe” whether it be athletics, clubs, or student government.”
