History Club recognizes five PV veterans

The History Club honored five Pascack Valley veterans who died in service to the country this morning in PV’s courtyard. Students and faculty took a moment to remember Michael Roell, George Poor, Robert Ranges, Edward Maher, and Min Soo Choi.

A commemoration was organized and open to Pascack Valley students and staff by the History Club that honored five PV veterans – Michael Roell, George Poor, Robert Ranges, Edward Maher, and Min Soo Choi. The event was held in PV’s courtyard this morning from 7:45-8:15 am.

History Club Advisor and PV teacher Leah Jerome said that remembering and honoring those who died in service to our country from our school community is the “right thing to do.”

“You should know their names, and you should honor their life,” Jerome said. “There’s a reason we celebrate and honor Memorial Day. It’s not just some people who live somewhere else it’s people who lived in our backyard and people who are just like us. To put a face to the name [and] to the holiday, I think, gives it more meaning.”
