Juniors look to lead girls tennis to improved season

Head Coach: Tom Gallione (2nd Season)

Last Year’s Record: 6-11

Key returnees: Jessica Ruback (So.)

Key losses: Brianna Ruback, Noelle Garbaccio, Grace Cho

Key newcomers: Elizabeth Parisi (Jr.), Holly Aloi (Jr.), Stephanie Perini (Jr.), Ally Botwinick (Jr.), Amanda Hirschberg (Jr.)

Strengths of the team: Singles. Many of the new girls will slot right in to the mix on singles.

Areas that need improvement: Finding the right fit for doubles

Outlook: This season the Indians have very strong players for single matches, despite many newcomers. However, they will need to fill in the missing pieces for doubles. Gallione is hoping some new faces and players on JV last year will step up and help form solid pairs. If everyone continues to improve and stays healthy, they are looking forward to a very successful season.

Coach’s Comment: “I’m excited about the group of girls we have. They have been working hard so far this year and our goal is to get better everyday.”
