PV English teacher prepares for EdSurge Conference

Mr. Matt Morone, an English teacher here at Pascack Valley, will be attending the EdSurge Conference tomorrow at Ramapo College.

The conference is designed to bridge technology and education. At the event, Keynote speakers will give speeches, educational technology companies will present their products to educators, and student and teacher panels will give feedback about technology in education.

“I will get to see what kind of innovation is going on in other districts, and what works and what doesn’t,” Morone said. “Also, educational technology companies will present their advances in the private sector, such as Canvas.”

Morone is not going to be by himself. Several other PV administrators, such as Dr. Barry Bachenheimer, will attend the conference tomorrow looking to offer feedback about what types of technology would help students and teachers.

“The toughest thing is to find technology to meet specific needs,” Morone said. “Since we have been one of the more advanced districts, successes have shown that technology has aided students.”

Editor’s Note: Several members of The Smoke Signal will also be present and providing live-coverage of the event.
