Pascack Valley Football is set to take on Passaic Valley in the Quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 Tournament.
The Panthers are coming into this game with a 4-4 record, as the 6th seed in the tournament. They are coming off two straight losses and need to bounce back in a big way in order to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
Passaic Valley is seeded 3rd in the tournament. They have a 5-3 record and are looking for their third win in a row and to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
Pascack Valley have won all of their last five matchups against the Hornets, giving up single digit points on four of them, and scoring at least twenty two points in all of them.
The last time these two teams met was in 2022, it was a close 22-21 win for the Panthers. This game had back and forth scoring, ending with a Kevin Regula touchdown, and a two-point conversion followed, allowing Pascack Valley to take the lead and win.
The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the Sparta vs. Wayne Hills matchup that is at the same time tonight, at Wayne Hills. The winner of both games will play again next Friday, November 7th.
Passaic Valley is known for their heavy ground attack, using both their running back and quarterback as key weapons to take over games and win with suffocating rushing attacks. This game will be a battle of the trenches, and Valley will have to step up in a big way on offense to compete with Passaic Valley.
