Pascack Valley physics teacher Bill Koenig and physics and technology and Honors Engineering Design teacher Jim Kennedy grill hamburgers during homecoming. This year, homecoming will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Pascack Valley’s fifth annual homecoming BBQ will be held adjacent to the football field from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Admission to the event is free and will include food and music before, during, and after PV football takes on Demarest at 1 p.m. If there is inclement weather, homecoming will be held inside.

“It’s the only home Saturday day game,” PV English teacher and head of the homecoming committee Tina Marchiano said. “People who can’t always make it to the games on a Friday night can come out and people from different walks of town and the community who may not necessarily have really gone to PV can spend time at the school.”

Last year, homecoming was cancelled from the Nor’easter storm that hit the area.

Last year, it was really upsetting that we didn’t get to have the event,” PV senior and president of the homecoming committee Olivia Jones said. “We’re hoping to rally this year and come out even better and stronger.”

Jones said Della Cucina, Shoprite, and pizza places in River Vale and Hillsdale are providing food for the event.

“There’s a grill going, there are lawn games, and there are chairs and tables set up,” Jones said. “It’s just something fun we do for people to get the sense of PV and what we’re all about before they watch the football game.”
