The third season of “The Night Agent” was released on Netflix in February. “The Night Agent” is an action-thriller series based on the 2019 novel by Matthew Quirk. The show follows a low-level FBI agent working in the White House who gets himself involved in a dangerous conspiracy. Its interesting plot and political relevance have made the show very popular.
Part of its third season was filmed in May of 2025 in River Vale, New Jersey, where many Pascack Valley High School students live. The section filmed in River Vale was the opening flashback scene to the main character, Peter Sutherland’s childhood, where he overhears his mother’s struggles and he promises to always do the right thing. The scene features a River Vale home and a local road.
“They filmed it on my street at one of my neighbors’ houses,” PV Senior Abigail Brayman said.
Such an opportunity can be very exciting and interesting for a small town. However, such a major production came with its challenges. The film crew had to use a number of vehicles and equipment, so they blocked off multiple streets and temporarily altered multiple citizens’ daily lives.
“They closed off my street for a couple of days, and I couldn’t park at my house, so it was kind of annoying,” Brayman said.
The filming process wasn’t all bad, though. Brayman had the opportunity to speak with some of the film crew and was able to see them working from her home every day.
“It was actually really cool. The film crew parked their food trucks and equipment in my driveway, and I got to speak to some of them,” Brayman said. “I also got to see one of the actors, which was pretty cool.”
The River Vale scene made up the first three minutes of the first episode, and although it was short, it left a lasting impression on the show. The third season was very interesting and worth watching, but knowing that part of it was filmed in many PV students’ hometowns makes it much more enjoyable.
“It was overall a really amazing experience, and I’m glad that they decided to film in River Vale,” Brayman said.
